Linea di Confine per la Fotografia Contemporanea is a cultural association formed by public bodies (the Town Councils of Boretto, Correggio, Fiorano, Luzzara, Rubiera, Scandiano and the ‘Ente di Gestione per i Parchi e la Biodiversità Emilia Centrale’ - Body for the Management of Parks and Biodiversity of Central Emilia).  

The mission of the Linea di Confine project concerns the planning and coordination of photographic surveys on areas of the territory in relation to the themes of its transformation, entrusting projects to some of the most highly qualified photographic researchers on the national and international panorama.  

The Linea di Confine project first saw the light between 1989 and 1990 when Rubiera Town Council brought together the Province of Reggio Emilia and a group of local Councils (Boretto, Cavriago, Correggio, Gualtieri, Luzzara, Poviglio and Scandiano) in order to give way to a series of photographic studies across the provincial territory. In 2000 the cultural association based at the Ospitale venue was founded, and it is here that the association currently carries out its activities.  

The organs that manage the association are the Assembly of Members, the Board and the President. Furthermore, the statute of the association foresees the role of the coordinator and of the Scientific Committee.  
Since 2012 the President of the Association has been Rita Boni, the vice-president is Emilia Ficarelli and the director is William Guerrieri.  
The Scientific Committee is composed by: Antonello Frongia, William Guerrieri, Guido Guidi, Stefano Munarin, Federico Zanfi.
